Glaxo Wellcome
Inc has pulled the irritable bowel drug Lotronex off the market
in response to an FDA ban. The drug has been linked to at least
8 deaths and 124 hospitalizations. Lotronex can cause serious side
effects, including severe constipation that requires surgical intervention,
and intestinal inflammation that in some cases has been fatal.
